ABOUT
Structured like a symphony, Black Serpentine consists of four individual movements that are loosely connected. The troubled marriage of fashion designer Trent Nichols and his wife Jennifer hits rock bottom; Brandon, their 20-year-old son, only escapes the emptiness of his life by indulging in homicidal fantasies; against his better judgment, aging private investigator Edward Keyes decides to investigate mobster Jimmy; and against all odds, sex worker Alexxus and aspiring model Jacob fall in love. As Trent cancels Jacob‘s career, the two scheme a ruthless plan to bring him down.

ANDY STURM
(Director, Writer & Producer)
Andy, a German writer-director, is excited about his feature debut, BLACK SERPENTINE. He studied economics and worked various jobs, including in fashion management, as a photographer, and novelist. In 2020, he wrote, directed, and produced his first short film, BAIL. The film went to festivals and was accepted by Prime Video.
PHILIPPE REINHARDT
(Actor & Producer)
Philippe is a Swiss actor and producer. He began in German TV, then moved to making films like Til Schweiger‘s 11/2 Knights. After the disaster movie Faktor 8, Philippe broke through internationally. He starred in productions like A. Malyukov‘s Match and F. Bondarchuk‘s Stalingrad. His leading role in Zhenikh made him famous in Eastern Europe. In 2022 Philippe‘s projects included Tobol, DIVERSANT, Contamin, and Die Diplomatin. In his first U.S. feature, Match, Philippe starred next to Armand Assante and Franco Nero.
BAIL
BAIL is Andy Sturm’s debut short film. It also is the first collaboration of Andy and Philippe. It ran on one of Germany’s most renowned short film festivals, was selected by Prime Video, and is the first film ever released in full length on Europe’s largest film-related YouTube channel.
SYNOPSIS
Inspired by Friedrich Schiller’s “Die Bürgschaft,” BAIL is the story of troubled young Damon, who attempts to take vengeance on Dennis, his best friend’s racist murderer. As his nightly retaliation fails, he is about to be executed himself. Dennis is about to shoot him but grants Damon a dying wish.
